Never having owned a vacation rental property before, we were initially intimidated by all of the many details involved in making our beach home available for rentals. Silvia Williams (Serenity Beach Rentals) allowed us to enjoy all of the benefits of owning a beach home without any of the headaches. When we decided to build a home on Cape San Blas and make it available for vacation rentals, we first talked to some of the “bigger” property management companies. It seemed like the safe bet to go with someone who had a long history and a large inventory. Luckily for us, a friend put us in touch with Silvia at Serenity Beach Rentals. At our first meeting, it seemed clear that we weren’t going to be just another client, and that Silvia wasn’t going to take a one-size-fits-all approach. We really liked the business model that she proposed, and felt like she would treat our home as if it were her own. For that reason we decided to give Serenity a try. Since then we haven’t been disappointed. Silvia has followed through with her personal approach, and has been a great help in coordinating all rentals, managing the property, and making sure that our home is taken care of while we are away. It is comforting to know that she personally visits the house before and after each rental to make sure that everything is as it should be. The house is always well prepared for our own visits, allowing us to enjoy the property as much as those who rent it. While we initially decided to work with Serenity because of the personal touch we would get, we were slightly concerned that we might not be able to get as much rental activity as with some of the bigger companies. It turns out we were wrong. Within the very first year we have already had bookings and rental income at higher rates than anticipated, based on comparable numbers from other companies and agents. It makes sense, though, based on the business model. Since Serenity Beach Rentals doesn’t rely on a huge inventory, they make sure that every property’s rental potential is maximized. And because Silvia makes sure that each guest has the best vacation experience possible, we have already had several repeat renters. I can’t recommend Silvia and Serenity Beach Rentals more. Silvia’s personal service is so important to my comfort level in renting our home to others. She personally inspects the house each week after cleaning. Our renters have been very happy with the house as well as with her service. There have been no negative comments or reviews from renters which is so important in the rental market. Her monthly summary of income and expenses is organized with timely payments to us.
